Photo Hunt: Hands

The Photo Hunt subject in blogland this week is HANDS.

How about the hands of time?

In this hand is a hand of cards. Was he dealt a good hand?

Here's another card hand, along with hands in the background.

Ah, the hands of love! This picture is from one of the weddings at which I officiated.

Sometimes gloved hands play the handbells, like these at our church.

Precious hands - another from our church.

And more from our church.

Finally, here's a photo of what I have hanging on my kitchen wall.

Did you know the human hand has 27 bones? According to Wikipedia, the "average length of an adult male hand is 189 mm, while the average length of an adult female hand is 172 mm. The average hand breadth for adult males and females is 84 and 74 mm respectively."

After reading some of the comments left on the original post, I edited this to add the photo below. It's the full picture of the painting on my kitchen wall. Initially, I used only a portion to emphasize the hands, this week's theme. It is one of my all-time favorites.

Oooh! I like the different take on the card-related hands!

This week, I entered twice: two similar settings yet two totally different takes. Do check them out here and here.

cheers,

Okay, you got me curious now - do handbell ringers always wear gloves? Am thinking not but can't be sure! ;)

Good collection of hands. I really find it hard to hold cards without dropping them. Mine's up too.

I love the pictures of the children praying and I also love that last picture. My parents had that painting hanging over our dining room table when I was growing up. I loved the bowl of what I thought was tomato soup and the bread sitting on the table while he prayed. It doesn't show in your photo but every time I have tomato soup I think of that painting.

If you have time stop by and see my photo hunt this week.

That was an awesome series for this week. And I thought only tnchick will get the idea of the clock's hands, so I see I was wrong.

Have a great weekend!

This was a great take on the theme. I loved all of your examples and photographs. The older man hanging on your wall is very touching. So are all of them but he gets to me. I didn't know how many bones were in a human hand.

Love what you did with this weeks interpretation of hands! I laughed when I read your comment on my hunt, how you expected twins hands! So did I! When I was in California, we tried all kinds of interesting hand photos, showing mostly who's hand was whose, but then twinie remembered this photo of her grandson, and we had to do it! lol..Thanks for your visit. I always look forward to seeing you visitied!

Several of you left comments about the man praying, so I've edited the post to include the full picture. Enjoy!

These are all wonderful takes on the theme. I agree with you.. that picture is powerful... and I think the cropped version is even more moving than the whole work.
My hands are here.

What a great group of photos! I actually have pictures on my computer similar to everything you posted - except for the picture hanging on your wall. Which, by the way, is beautiful.

Thanks for stopping by my post!
