Oh, Really? How Can That Be?

Anyone who has followed this blog for a while probably knows of my fascination with words, language oddities, puns and mistakes in signs, headlines and such.


Yesterday, I ran across another example that intrigued me.  Look at this headline that was on AOL:

2 of World’s Oldest Pass Away on Same Day:
Passed Away Hours After Each Other













Will someone explain to me how each could have passed away hours after each other?  Perhaps within hours of each other but not after each other.

English has been deteriorating for a long time. The news journalists are a prime example.
