Big hug honey. :)
Thinking of you today. I know that Carroll is still there with you in spirit. That will never leave.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Love and prayers are with you.
Carroll was indeed a gentleman and being a 5th generation Georgian, I'm proud he was from my great state. My heart and prayers are with you. Big hugs.
Sherry..I just floated here to your blog from "Reflections on a middle-aged fat woman", and I was stunned to see your posting about your husband. My deepest condolences and heartfelt thoughts are extended. Please know that your post is beautifully done, and I know that I feel I have learned much about him from your eloquent write....
My deepest sympathies to you and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you..
I am so sorry for your loss.
I am sorry. so very sorry. So much love here. I am sorry about the nature of his illness, too. That's a tough one. God bless you.
My prayers are with you. And I am glad he got his last wish. I have a brother and sister that died of cancer.
May he rest in peace.
SHERRY
We've only just met - today you visited my blog 70 Plus and Still Kicking and left a comment.
I wish to return the compliment.
Sorrow is everywhere for you right now, but I want to say that you are much more than an 'Ex' in everything. You are a most interesting and talented person - the person 'The Dawg' must have loved very much.
There is a big world out there, and a fascinating future. Grieve of course, but in time gradually allow life to seep over you again, in a productive way.
And perhaps plant something beautiful and remember it forevermore as a link with the one you love.
Thinking of you

I am so sorry for your loss. I read your beautifully written post about his life. It is obvious the world lost a good man. The collage is a beautiful tribute as well.
Lovely memory mosaic. You're in my prayers ...
Hugs and blessings,
sorry for your loss. may his soul rest in peace.
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog and leave a comment on the pigeon WW post. Truly sorry for your loss. I read your previous post about your husband. So very interesting. What a life well lived! I've never met anyone before that has owned pigeons. Quite fascinating. Also I've decided it is a very, very small world. I have an aunt and uncle that live in Summerville...my uncle worked at the shipyard until retirement. Perhaps they knew of Carroll. I will have to ask them sometime. God Bless!
What a great collection of pictures of your sweetheart.
I'm thinking of you.
I extend my condolences to you. I will also lift prayer. I'm sorry for your loss.

We were blessed to have known him. The perfect Santa candidate, always a smile, his caring ways, and great conversation. Summerville just won't be the same without him. Rest in peace Carroll. It was a life well spent.

Sherry and all the family of Carroll. He was a truly dear person who always made me feel as if I was an old friend and not a new acquaintance. His write up barely touches his genuine beauty.
You are in my prayers.

Carroll Smith was a one of a kind. He and my father, Arch McCauley became best friends in the early 60's as fellow racing pigeon competitors in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area. Carroll became a part of our family and remained so throughout the years. I am extremely saddened to know he has passed on but I can only imagine the stories he and my Dad are sharing today. To all of you, please find peace knowing Carroll is in great hands with the Lord. My memories of him are very sweet and vivid and will live on forever.

My condolences to Carroll's family.
Having known him through work most of the 1980's, I fondly remember his vitality, curiosity, animation, openness, and loyalty. He loved his birds, the news of the day, a good joke, baseball, and a provocative question. He could talk about any/all of them into the night.
Carroll was a good man. My sympathy to all of you who will miss him most.

Frank, Eddie, Jeff and Courtney- I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Smith. I have remembered him from as far back as when I was a little girl living next door up until I was grown with children of my own. He never failed to stop and speak when we saw each other out and about. I see so much of him in Frank - especially the smile. I also remember the love he had for all of you which surpassed all others. I will be thinking of your during your time of adjustment ahead.
Much Love.
