This photo below was taken within 24 hours and from the same spot, although facing a different direction. Hundreds of volunteers joined in rescue efforts to find a missing 13-year-old drowning victim. He was from Maryland and was with teammates for a baseball tournament in the Myrtle Beach area . It's now a week later and his body has still not been recovered.
Nature - so beautiful, so mysterious and totally uncontrollable.

what an interesting series of pictures. And yes nature is interesting and scary at times.
What tragic stories. How awful. Beautiful beach pictures though.
Beautiful beach, but yes, wild and unpredictable. The ocean scares the stuffing out of me, so I keep my distance.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
That is so sad. I'm terrified of something like this happening to one of my kids.
Beautiful beach shots. Love the reflection of light. :)
(Hampi is in Karnataka, India. The link is given in that post.)
I am really sorry for the family. (I got carried away by the first two shots.)
A beautiful place but nature is a terrible beauty sadly
So very true and so very sad as well.
You got honorable mention in my Caption This post from yesterday. Hubby picked the top three. Thanks for playing along.
Have a terrific day. :)
Out of such beauty comes heartache...A shame that the child has not been found and the other father died....
However, your picture of the shore was serene...
Thanks for sharing...
There have been so many drownings this summer. I've read that the increased rip currents have been tied to a shift in the North Atlantic Oscillation.
That's so sad.
So sad for those families! The ocean is so gorgeous and full of fun yet so dangerous.
Thank you for the blog visit. It was nice to "meet" you!
Gorgeous, gorgeous photos. How the numbers grow!
Oh the sadness takes my breath away.
I had not heard about this. So tragic.
